Bedroom nightstands
Our website gives you tips on
finding the best deals on bedroom nightstands, as well as other helpful insight on finding the perfect
nightstand for you.
Based on the customers we've talked to so far, the bedroom is the
preferred spot in the home for someone to put their new nightstand. Most people enjoy the compact size
coupled with the fact that most have the needed storage space and make for a handy place to put that alarm
clock and small bedside lamp.
We believe the best spot in the home for a nightstand has always been the bedroom, usually right
next to a bed. Although there are a few important things to consider before making your next purchase, there
are a lot of similarities between most nightstands. Some of the main points to consider when buying one
specifically for the bedroom are:
Height - Although some people do overlook this simple
fact, you'll probably want a nightstand that is close to the height of your bed if that's where you end up putting
it. A good general rule of thumb that works for most people is stay within three inches above or below the height
of the mattress. I imagine reaching for glass of water in the middle of the night, and tipping it over because of
getting a stand that's the wrong height would not be a great experience for anyone.
Sturdiness - On that note, you'll also want to make
sure to get one that's sturdy, especially if your planning on putting it on carpet flooring. Often the expensive
models are the sturdiest, but you can still find a sturdy bedroom nightstand if you shop around and do a little
research.
Storage space - There are several good points to bring
up about storage space, because the need of storage space will vary greatly from person to person. One to three
drawer nightstands are very common for bedroom use. Another good point many people overlook is cubby space versus
drawer space. The cubby is going to have easier access for something like a good book you pick up and put
down constantly, whereas the drawer keeps items more protected from dust and possible spills.
Assembly - Over the years, we have seen many neglect
to check if their nightstand came pre-assembled or needed to be put together once it arrived. Their usually isn't
much to the assembly process (it's usually quite simple). But for some people it can be quite a pain to find out
they need to put together their new item and didn't check before purchase. If you check ahead of time, you won't
run into this issue if it is a problem for you.
Although there are other important factors, hopefully this has given you some ideas to consider
when looking for a new bedroom nightstand.
